Our recent J&K wholesale order has brought in a truly impressive selection of aquarium hardscape. We specifically curated this order with our upcoming aquascaping course in mind, seeking out diverse and inspiring materials.  Key Hardscape Highlights:

 WIO Tree Trunk Mix: These intricately detailed wood pieces from WIO offer a remarkably natural aesthetic. Ideal for creating depth and realism, especially in nano aquascapes. Their variety in shape and size makes them perfect for workshop settings and creative aquascaping.

 

 Centurion Wood: We've acquired stunning centerpiece-grade Centurion wood. These substantial pieces exhibit remarkable character with intricate details and textures. Kohaku Medaka Rice Fish – A Rare Treat Now at Pond Life Aquatics! 

Now, onto the fish! And the real highlight for me this week: 

Kohaku Medaka Rice Fish! These have been so difficult to get a hold of for ages. I'm so excited we finally have them in stock at Pond Life Aquatics. If you don't know Medaka, they are these gorgeous rice fish, and the Kohaku variety are particularly special. They have these pure white bodies with sparkling points, and these amazing orange heads. They are bred to be viewed from above, so they are perfect for patio ponds. But honestly, they look incredible just swimming in an aquarium too. I'm completely smitten with them. They are a little more expensive than some rice fish, but at £7.50 each, I think it's a really reasonable price for such a beautiful and sought-after fish. I'm even considering setting up a breeding tank for them myself – that's how cool I think they are!

(We've had some great new arrivals from South America this week at Pond Life Aquatics, including: 

Mosaic Guppies: Exceptional Blue Mosaic Guppies are now in stock, showcasing intricate patterns and vibrant coloration appealing to fancy guppy enthusiasts.

Red Swordtails: Characterful Red Swordtails have arrived, displaying robust builds and rich red coloration, suitable for adding dynamic movement to community aquariums.

Corydoras (Restock): We have restocked tank-bred Corydoras, featuring both Stirbai Corydoras and Peppered Corydoras. These popular and peaceful catfish are well-acclimated to London tap water and contribute positively to any community tank environment. 

Appistogramma Paraguayas (Limited Stock): A limited number of Apistogramma Paraguayas pairs are available at Pond Life Aquatics. These sought-after Apistogramma relatives are recommended for experienced aquarists and are expected to sell quickly.

Our Asian section features a diverse range of new fish

Including: 

Rainbow Medaka Rice Fish: Alongside the Kohaku Medaka, we also have Rainbow Medaka Rice Fish in stock, another beautiful variety of this popular species. 

Pearl Gouramis: Gorgeous Pearl Gouramis have arrived. We are pleased to report that Pearl Gouramis that were under observation are now thriving and available.

Sparkling Gouramis: Sparkling Gouramis, also known as Croaking Gouramis, are now in stock. These nano-sized gouramis are full of character and ideal for heavily planted smaller aquariums.

Rasboras & Danios: We have restocked Harlequin Rasbora, Galaxy Rasbora, Chilli Rasbora, Longfin Zebra Danios, and Longfin Leopard Danios.

Barbs: New Black Tail Rosy Barbs and Longfin Cherry Barbs are available. We also have a group of Pentazona Barbs that have made a log their home – see if you can spot them!

Candy Cane Betta: A stunning Candy Cane Betta is a highlight in our Siamese Fighting Fish selection.

 Our African selection has been updated with some interesting additions

Clown Killifish: We have a limited number of Clown Killifish, nano aquarium suitable top-dwelling fish with striking black and yellow markings and red tails.

Congo Tetras & Longfin African Tetras: Beautiful Congo Tetras and Longfin African Tetras are now in stock. Note that these fish are currently in a bottom tank in the African section, but we may be relocating them for better viewing.

 From Australia, we have received:

 Red Rainbowfish:

Stunning Red Rainbowfish ( Glossolepis incisus) are back in stock. These impressive rainbowfish are known for their vibrant red coloration as they mature. We also continue to stock popular Bosmani Rainbowfish.

 Beyond fish and hardscape, we also have new additions to our outdoor ponds!

Baby Koi Carp have arrived, signalling the start of the pond season at Pond Life Aquatics. These Koi are British bred from Japanese lines. British bred goldfish and Shubunken are expected next week.
