Product Description:

Amazon Swords are a staple in aquaria. Growing up to 60cm tall they are an ideal background plant.  Being relatively easy to keep they are perfect for creating a dense and lush green backdrop for most aquariums. However this plant may not be suitable for aquaria under 60L due to its impressive height and dominant root systems.

Occasionally when first introduced to aquariums Amazon Swords steams may brown and die. This is common as Amazon swords are sensitive to sudden changes in water chemistry. When this happens the old growth should be cut off too encourage new growth and to avoid dead leaves from fouling the water. 

Amazon swords require fertilization to flourish, we recommend EasyLife Profito to achieve optimum growth. Although not necessary, Swords will appreciate the addition of CO2 or the use of a liquid CO2 product, such as EasyLife EasyCarbo, which may also reduce algal growth.

Due to its long flat leaves Amazon swords are susceptible to algae growth and should therefore be gently wiped down to remove build up when algae growth is noticed,
