Assorted Swordtails

Origin: South America

Male Swordtails have a distinct extension on their tail, resembling a sword, but females don't, so it's easy to sex Swordtails. 

As with Mollies and Platies, Swordtails are livebearers and will carry their eggs until they can give birth to live young straight into the water.

Swordtails like planted tanks with lots of space to swim around in, but also need a suitable cover for the aquarium since they can jump out of the water (as can many species).
