Electric Blue Ram

The Electric Blue Ram is a selectively bred variant of the Ram species, commonly found in the Colombian and Venezuelan Llanos of the Orinoco River drainage.

These tropical grasslands experience periodic flooding and boast a rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Rams are serene dwarf cichlids often recommended for experienced aquarists.

 Prior to adding them to a home aquarium, it is crucial to ensure a mature, soft, and acidic environment, with plenty of hiding spaces and territories created through dark substrate, dense planting, and floating plant cover.

Effective filtration and regular partial water changes are necessary to maintain low nitrate levels, essential for the well-being of this species.

 Rams do well in pairs or small groups in a peaceful community tank and should not be kept with aggressive tankmates.

Suitable companions include Corydoras catfish, hatchetfish, pencilfish, small tetras, and suckermouth catfish.
