Measuring just 2cm in length, the miniature Pygmy Puffer is an ideal addition to smaller aquaria. These fish from South West India may form shoals, but will eventually establish their own territories. Despite occasional chasing, these puffers are not highly territorial and do minimal damage to each other. While entertaining to watch, it's important to note that they should not be kept with other fish species. Pygmy Puffers are not picky about water chemistry, as long as conditions are consistently maintained. Unlike other Asian puffers, they do not require salt in their tank. Providing plenty of plant cover allows these curious fish to hide, dart around, and avoid any potential competition. They may also be referred to as Dwarf or Pea Puffers in stores.
