Description
Rotala rotundifolia originates in South East Asia and it a long stemmed plants with small rounded leaves. Unlike most other Rotala species, rotundifolia is relatively easy to keep. When kept under good light, the top of the plant will begin to produce red leaves and is quite beautiful.
A good fertiliser should be used to maintain proper growth and plant health, we recommend using EasyLife Profito. Additionally when aiming for red colouration, CO2 should be added, either directly from CO2 injection or via a liquid CO2 product such as EasyLife EasyCarbo.
Rotala rotundifolia will readily spread out and can become quite bushy. Because of this it should be regularly pruned back to avoid leaves on the bottom stems dying due to a lack of light. Like most stem plants, rotundifolia can be easily propagated by taking clippings and planting them directly into the substrate.
